The President of Kyrgyzstan signed a decree «On declaring the period of 2023-2027 as a five-year action plan for the development of mountain regions». Press service of the head of state reported.
The document was adopted to ensure environmental, economic and food security of the country, to increase climate resilience, to preserve natural heritage and to implement in 2023-2027 a five-year action plan for the development of mountain regions, announced by the UN General Assembly’s resolution Sustainable Mountain Development.
An organizing committee for the preparation and holding of five year of action for the development of mountain regions has been established. Nurlan Kalmurzaev was appointed a Special Representative of the President for the implementation of initiatives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was instructed to develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval within a month a draft roadmap for the implementation of the five-year action plan for the development of mountain regions.
