Kyrgyzstan’s GDP growth rate increased to 3.3 percent in January — August after 2.9 percent in January — July 2023. The weekly review of the Eurasian Development Bank says.
The bank’s economists note that the improvement was facilitated by the cessation of the decline in industrial production. The construction sector, wholesale and retail trade continue to form the basis of growth. They were supported by the growth of real wages and the dynamics of consumer lending.
«A 1.5 percent decline in output in agriculture had a restraining effect, which was due to dry weather in the current season and high indicators a year earlier. According to our estimates, in November — December the production of basic metals will enter the growth zone, which will ensure an increase in GDP growth rates to 4.2 percent by the end of 2023,» EDB experts concluded.
