Firefighting helicopter crash in Turkey: One Kyrgyzstani hospitalized, 2 missing

A firefighting helicopter crashed in Turkey. There were four people on board, three of whom are citizens of Kyrgyzstan. The Turkish television channel NTV reported.

It is known that the crash occurred on September 16 at approximately 11.53 p.m. The helicopter crashed in a reservoir located in Izmir province.

According to the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul, the helicopter was extinguishing a forest fire.

The Turkish Minister of Agriculture, Ibrahim Yumakli, said that the helicopter crashed while taking water from Tahtali dam.

One Kyrgyzstani is in the hospital, the search for the rest continues.

Local media report that the survived Kyrgyzstani, who is in hospital, is the co-pilot. He is in serious condition.
