Equipment for inspection of citizens will be installed at Karkyra-Avtodorozhny checkpoint by 2024. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The state service clarified that a complete reconstruction of three checkpoints will be carried out by next year. A new checkpoint will be built at Karkyra-Avtodorozhny checkpoint.
«The checkpoints, which have undergone complete reconstruction, will be equipped with new technical equipment, including for contactless inspection of baggage and hand luggage,» the statement says.
Earlier, a video from Karkyra-Avtodorozhny checkpoint appeared on social media. It shows how a Border Service officer inspects open suitcases of citizens manually, without the help of equipment or a dog.
