Exhibition of Kyrgyz artists takes place in London for the first time

An exhibition of Kyrgyz artists was held in London for the first time. Admir Kurman, representative of the organizers of London Kyrgyz Art, told 24.kg news agency.

He noted that exhibitions in Great Britain give Kyrgyz artists a good opportunity to become full-fledged participants of the world art market.

The works by masters and young artists of contemporary Kyrgyz painting are presented at the Institute named after the famous Turkish poet of the XIV century Yunus Emre. The paintings by Aziz Sulaimanov, Sadyk Murzakhanov, Arstan Dukuyev, Zalkar Toktogulov, Eldiyar Sharshembiyev are exhibited there.

The main style of the paintings is modern impressionism, genre and landscape art.

Curator of the exhibition Gulsara Akmatova-Davis noted that such an event is held in London for the first time. She hopes it will be a good start for similar art projects in the future, as the Kyrgyz Republic is rich in talent.

«Artists need to promote their works in England, where there are many art galleries that already take the works of our compatriots for sale. For example, Aziz Sulaimanov’s works are already represented in nine galleries in London,» Gulsara Akmatova-Davis told.

The exhibition was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the United Kingdom.
