Students studying at U.S. universities face the same problem every year. They are forced to return to Kyrgyzstan in order to extend their visas to stay in this country. Deputy Suyun Omurzakov announced at a meeting of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, a student visa is issued for only one year. «A year later, students studying at U.S. universities return home. These are additional costs and inconvenience for any family,» he said.
Parliament Speaker Nurlanbek Shakiev informed his colleagues about negotiations with the United States authorities on the issue of facilitating the procedure for issuing visas to Kyrgyzstanis.
«We hope that in the coming months the issue will have a positive outcome. The United States can facilitate the issuance of visas and extend their validity by 5-10 years,» he said.
