SCNS urges Kyrgyzstanis to adhere to traditional Islam

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) urges citizens to adhere to traditional Islam and avoid radical and non-traditional movements. Press center of the SCNS reported.

As part of the implementation of the concept of state policy in the religious sphere, the security services are reportedly carrying out appropriate work aimed at preventing radicalization of society.

It is noted that individual citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic who received independent religious education in third countries on the principles of non-traditional for the population of the republic religious movements, upon arrival in their homeland, including through the media, begin to spread the ideology of alien religious movements, often beyond the bounds of legality.

«As a result, some religious groups appear in society based on the principles of their narrow understandings and do not recognizing the teachings of prominent scholars of Islam, thereby developing intolerance towards other believers,» the statement says.

It is pointed out that, for example, the followers of the radical Salafi movement shout loudly during prayer, place their legs too wide, during takbir they raise their hands only to chest level, during prayer they make a lot of unnecessary movements, which is unacceptable according to the norms of the Hanafi madhab.

The SCNS and the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan call on the people to be more vigilant and develop their religious literacy by receiving religious education from trusted sources, from prominent religious figures and scientists.
