An extraordinary meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held in Tsaghkadzor with the participation of Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
The event was also attended by the Heads of Government of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. At the meeting, members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council exchanged views on the strategic development of the Union until 2030 and 2045, and discussed a draft declaration on the main tasks and key directions for the further development of integration processes.
Akylbek Japarov noted the importance of further deepening integration ties, removal of all barriers to the free movement of goods, capital, services and labor resources, and empowering the EEC with the necessary powers.
Following the extraordinary meeting, the heads of government instructed the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission to work out a draft St. Petersburg declaration for its final consideration at the upcoming meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which will be held on October 26-27 in Bishkek.
