Relatives of a crime boss Ulan Toktosunov, nicknamed Sakal, held a rally near the building of the Penitentiary Service in Bishkek.
About 30 people demand from the management of the Penitentiary Service not to transfer Ulan Toktosunov from the Naryn pre-trial detention center to the pre-trial detention center in Bishkek.
The brother of the convict, Zhakyp Toktosunov, said that the relatives were afraid that the same scenario could happen with Ulan Toktosunov as with Chyngyz Dzhumagulov.
«We are worried that our brother will be killed in the same way as Doo Chingiz. We hope everything will be fair. We believe that Kamchybek Tashiev and Sadyr Japarov will take this matter under control. He (Ulan Toktosunov. — Note of 24.kg news agency) has already served his sentence for so many years. Let him also continue to serve his sentence in Naryn,» Zhakyp Toktosunov said.
Earlier, three representatives of the protesters entered the State Penitentiary Service building and met with its management.
Relatives of Ulan Toktosunov stated that the Penitentiary Service employees do not deny the danger of transfer of the convicted to the pretrial detention center 1 in Bishkek. At the same time, they allegedly promised that Toktosunov’s security would be provided.

Ulan Toktosunov was put on the interstate wanted list in May 2015 in the case on the murder of Damir Saparbekov, a member of the organized criminal group of Kamchi Kolbaev. The crime occurred on the basis of criminal showdowns. A criminal case was initiated under Article 97 «Murder» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Before he was taken into custody, Ulan Toktosunov was hiding in Turkey.
In December 2016, the Pervomaisky District Court found him guilty under several articles and sentenced to 17 years in a penal colony with a high security regime.
