Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan Ruslan Zhaksylykov arrived in Kyrgyzstan. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan reported.
He has already met with Kyrgyz officials, including Secretary of the Security Council Marat Imankulov, as well as visited Ata-Beyit memorial complex.
«The military delegation of Kazakhstan will also take part in the active phase of the joint Kyrgyz-Kazakhstani Erdik special tactical exercise with special forces units of the armed forces of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and will visit a number of military facilities,» the General Staff said.
The defense departments of the two countries have been successfully cooperating in the military and military-technical fields since 1992. To date, the most dynamic area of cooperation is the training of military personnel in the educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since 1998, more than 300 military specialists of the Kyrgyz Republic have been trained in various military educational institutions of Kazakhstan. More than 40 servicemen are currently undergoing training.
