OSCE Parliamentary Assembly recognizes Wagner PMC as terrorist organization

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) passed a resolution on Wagner PMC of Yevgeny Prigozhin. The document published on the organization’s website says that it is a terrorist organization.

It is noted that the activities of the Wagner PMC were financed by the Russian state. «This means that the Russian state is responsible for the actions of the Wagner group abroad,» the document says.

The OSCE PA also condemned Belarus for supporting the Wagner PMC and allowing the construction of a mercenary base on its territory, «which jeopardizes the security of the Baltic countries.»

On June 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of Wagner Private Military Company (PMC), accused the Defense Ministry of Russia of hitting his company’s positions and said that 25,000 people were going to «deal with it.»

He said in the morning of June 24 that Wagner PMC controlled the military facilities of Rostov-on-Don. In order to prevent possible terrorist attacks on the territory of Moscow and the Moscow Oblast, an anti-terrorist operation regime had been declared. The anti-terrorist operation regime had also been declared in Voronezh Oblast.

The situation was resolved after Alexander Lukashenko held talks with the head of Wagner PMC and Yevgeny Prigozhin abandoned his intentions to go to Moscow.
