Strengthening of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan is aimed only at ensuring the country’s defense capability. The President Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting of the Security Council.
He stressed that Kyrgyzstan, as a peace-loving country, is not going to attack any other state.
«I believe that any conflict can be avoided or resolved only through diplomacy. We adhere to this principle in domestic and foreign policy. At the same time, when armed aggression is committed against us, our citizens are killed, our homes and other infrastructure are destroyed and burned, we cannot just sit and watch. We are ready to respond to any aggressor,» the head of state said.
He noted the difficult world situation, which is rapidly changing not only on a regional, but also on a global scale, accompanied by military-political actions.
«All this reminds us of the need to strengthen the military and state systems and testifies to the growing threats to military security. According to this, a revision of the state’s approach to ensuring military security and defense is required. General military-political instability, outbreaks of hostilities, new armed conflicts in different regions of the globe can lead to unimaginable consequences,» Sadyr Japarov said.
According to him, the conflict of geopolitical interests, aggravation of contradictions between the leading powers of the world and military-political blocs have undermined mutual trust between countries and created a crisis, the consequences of which have a negative impact on the global economy.
«The increase in restrictions on trade and so on due to the sanctions policy has become one of the factors that will lead to the escalation of conflicts and instability at the global level. In the context of our republic’s dependence on fuel and energy imports, the aggravation of energy problems in the region has become one of the factors affecting stability,» the president added.
He believes that the consistent and clear implementation of the state policy in the field of ensuring the country’s defense capability not only protects it from external threats, but also strengthens internal stability and the economic, spiritual and moral potential of the state, improves public security.
According to Sadyr Japarov, as a result, Kyrgyzstan can take on one of the leading roles in determining the development policy for the entire Central Asian region.
