Contribution of migrants from Central Asia to the Russian economy is 8-10 percent of the country’s GDP. Business Petersburg reported.
According to experts, the importance of cooperation with the states of Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, continues to grow for Moscow.
The contribution of labor migrants from the aforementioned countries to the Russian economy currently varies from 8 to 10 percent of the total gross domestic product (GDP) of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the importance of cooperation with Russia for citizens from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and other states of the Central Asian region also remains at a high level. For example, labor migrants transfer to their countries a significant share of the money earned in the Russian domestic market, the article says.
«In turn, remittances of labour migrants from the Russian Federation amount from 12 to 30 percent of the GDP of these countries,» experts remind.
