The founding meeting of China — Central Asia Business Council was held in the PRC, which was attended by the heads of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and China. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
Temir Sariev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, noted that in order to strengthen economic ties and expand trade cooperation between the countries, it is necessary to emphasize the importance of the railway construction project linking China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
«The railway line will become an important element of the transport infrastructure and a key route for the passage of goods and cargoes between China, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It will provide faster, more efficient and reliable transportation of goods, reduce delivery times and reduce logistics costs,» he said.
Temir Sariev stressed the importance of operation of checkpoints. According to him, it is necessary to expand and increase the operating time of Torugart-Avtodorozhny and Irkeshtam-Avtodorozhny checkpoints. Opening of another checkpoint — Bedel is planned in the near future.
«To date, the traffic of vehicles exceeds the throughput of the checkpoint by several times, which confirms the active interest of the Kyrgyz business in cooperation with Chinese companies. Domestic business welcomes and expects an increase in the number of checkpoints on the border of the two countries. This will make it possible to increase the speed of delivery of goods between the two countries,» the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic noted.
Temir Sariev also stressed the importance of simplifying the procedure for obtaining a visa to China, which is currently long and complicated, creating significant barriers for businessmen, tourists and others.
He proposed to take measures to simplify the procedure for issuing visas in order to promote the development of mutual trade.
In addition, Temir Sariev expressed the idea of opening laboratories or research centers in Kyrgyzstan, which will facilitate and speed up the process of certification and quality control of Kyrgyz goods for export.
