The maternity allowance will be increased starting from the new year. Zhanyl Alybaeva, Deputy Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration of Kyrgyzstan, said at Safe Motherhood press cafe.
According to her, the allowance is paid to working women. As of the beginning of May, the number of recipients exceeded 13,000 people. The average size of the allowance is more than 16,000 soms.
«From January 1, 2024, the amount of allowance paid out of the republican budget will increase to 2,000 soms,» Zhanyl Alybaeva said.
Recall, the maternity allowance for the first 10 working days is paid in the amount of 100 percent of wage (income) (at the expense of the employer), and from the 11th working day — in the amount of 10 calculated rates (1,000 soms) per month at the expense of the republican budget.
