Hearing of the case against ex-deputy head of Sverdlovsky district of Bishkek, Ruslan Beknazarov, ended in Pervomaisky District Court of the capital.
The court delivered a guilty verdict.
Ruslan Beknazarov was acquitted of assistance to terrorist activities, but convicted under the article «Manufacturing, distribution of extremist materials» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The former official was sentenced to one year of probationary supervision. The defendant himself stated that such a sentence may be related to politics. «Apparently, the authorities want me to keep silent for one year,» he said.
Recall, Ruslan Beknazarov was suspected of distributing extremist materials on Facebook. They promoted the ideology of the extremist-terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami, banned in Kyrgyzstan.
On November 2, 2022, the Pervomaisky District Court changed the measure of restraint for the son of the former ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Malaysia, Azimbek Beknazarov, Ruslan. He was under house arrest.
