SCNS reports details of detention of Tokmak mayor Urmat Samaev

The mayor of Tokmak city Urmat Samaev was detained on suspicion of corruption. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

«Involvement of the mayor in the organization of a corruption scheme in Tokmok Zhyluuluk municipal enterprise was revealed, in particular, illegal connection of private houses in the city to the central heating system. Part of the money was transferred to the mayor,» the statement says.

A criminal case was initiated under Article 337 (abuse of official position) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The detainee was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.

Recall, Urmat Samaev was detained on Monday. It was preceded by an inspection of the Tokmok municipality, which lasted more than three weeks. The director of Tokmok Zhyluuluk was detained on April 14.
