President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with the leader of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara. Press service of the head of state reported.
The leaders of the countries discussed issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, paid special attention to strengthening ties in the political, trade, economic and other spheres.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked Kyrgyzstan for its assistance in eliminating the consequences of the earthquakes that occurred in Turkey in February 2023, in particular for the rescue team sent. In addition, he thanked for the humanitarian and financial assistance and the mobile hospital sent by the Kyrgyz side.
The President of Turkey noted that he felt the support of Sadyr Japarov, who was one of the first to call to express sympathy and personally left an entry in the book of condolences at the country’s embassy in Bishkek. Such support of the Kyrgyz brothers gives great strength to the Turkish people.
Touching upon trade and economic cooperation, Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted with satisfaction the dynamics of development in trade. To date, it has grown by 26 percent.
The goal is to bring the figure to $2 billion in the future.
The Turkish leader stressed that he supported creation of a Turkic Investment Fund and opening of its regional office in Bishkek.
Sadyr Japarov once again expressed condolences in connection with the numerous casualties as a result of the earthquakes in Turkey. He noted that Kyrgyzstan sincerely mourned together with the fraternal Turkish people and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The President is confident that Turkey will overcome the trials with dignity. The republic was not left alone. in the tragic days. It was supported by many countries, which sent rescue teams and humanitarian aid.
Sadyr Japarov noted that the Kyrgyz people were always ready to support fraternal Turkey. He wished a successful presidential election scheduled for May 14 this year.
The head of state suggested holding a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in the near future.
Kyrgyzstan intends to actively work and interact with the Turkish side to increase trade.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue and partnership on the world stage in order to further strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation, promote sustainable development, stability and prosperity of the two countries.
