The court remanded activist Atai Beishenbek in custody.
According to the lawyer Kanat Khasanov, since the judges and the prosecutor were determined to keep the accused in custody, the defense refused to speak.
«There was no point in speaking for a long time. We just said that we support the appeal. The panel of judges, headed by Adis Momunaliev, went into the deliberation room and a minute later they read out the decision, according to which Atai Beishenbek was remanded in custody until April 20,» the lawyer said.
The Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir was created on October 22. It includes activists, politicians and MPs.
