Labor Minister joins march of mother heroines for traditional values

A march of mother heroines for traditional values took place in Bishkek. It was timed to coincide with the celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8. Press service of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration reported.

According to it, the event was organized by the ministry together with the Party of Pensioners of Kyrgyzstan.

Its participants in national women’s clothes ak elechek marched from Ala-Too square to the monument to Urkuya Saliyeva. Representatives of all seven regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as employees of the central office of the Ministry of Labor, bloggers, poets, and writers participated in the march.

The minister Kudaibergen Bazarbayev noted that Kyrgyzstan is a secular country where the rights and freedoms of all citizens are protected.

According to him, the state is engaged in systematic and progressive work aimed at protecting and promoting national traditional values and traditions.

«By this march we demonstrate our commitment to national traditions, show not only our respect for our history, origins, but also demonstrate our readiness to defend our national way of life, a society in which traditional families exist, where a child has a father and mother, where national clothes like ak kalpak, ak elechek are revered, where people think on their own and independently,» the official said.

After the event, on behalf of the President, the march participants were presented with head scarves.

Another peaceful march of women’s solidarity took place in Bishkek on the same day — against gender-based violence and discrimination.
