Russia and Kyrgyzstan plan to intensify economic and investment cooperation

Kyrgyzstan and Russia plan to intensify economic and investment cooperation. The first meeting of the Russian-Kyrgyz working group on economic and investment cooperation was held, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reports.

Deputy head of the relevant Russian department Dmitry Volvach noted the high level of trade and economic relations between the two countries. He paid special attention to the prospects for participation of Russian companies in the implementation of investment projects in Kyrgyzstan.

«Russian-Kyrgyz relations are one of the most striking examples of successful interaction in the EAEU and CIS space. To date, Russia is one of the leading trade and economic partners of Kyrgyzstan with a 27.7 percent share in the republic’s foreign trade. Investment and business cooperation is actively developing. Trade and economic relations with the Kyrgyz Republic are supported by more than 80 constituent entities of Russia,» Dmitry Volvach said.

The parties discussed the proposals of the Russian business community on the participation of Russian companies in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan: more than 40 projects in industry, construction, power industry and other sectors. Russian companies in the fields of construction of infrastructure facilities and IT presented their projects and agreed on further cooperation with partners.
