The President of Kyrgyzstan will pay an official visit to Pakistan. It was announced following a meeting of the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Islamabad Ulanbek Totuyaev with the Prime Minister of the country Shahbaz Sharif.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties considered a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-Pakistani bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the qualitative organization of upcoming visits and events at the highest and high levels, strengthening of military-technical, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states, as well as the implementation of important regional projects such as CASA-1000.
According to Ulanbek Totuyaev, Kyrgyzstan is interested in the comprehensive development of interstate cooperation. He suggested intensifying work on political contacts, increasing the volume of mutual trade, intensifying investment cooperation and establishing effective logistics routes between Central and South Asia.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan thanked for political support, readiness to further strengthen cooperation, as well as assistance to the Kyrgyz side in the fight against the consequences of the flood and conveyed words of gratitude to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov for condolences. He also noted that Pakistan was interested in promoting cooperation with the countries of the region, given the common interests and positions on many issues.
The parties agreed to jointly work out the issue of organizing an official visit of Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan in the first half of the year.
