Agreement on currency regulation in EAEU to be signed in Almaty

It is expected that during the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, the Heads of the EAEU Governments will sign an agreement on coordinated approaches to the regulation of foreign exchange relations and adoption of liberalization measures. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Aibek Smadiyarov announced at a briefing on Monday.

According to him, a regular meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the international digitalization forum Digital Almaty 2023: Digital Partnership in New Reality will be held on February 2-3, 2023, in Almaty with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.

The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be attended by the Heads of Governments of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Representatives of the EAEU observer states, the CIS Secretary General and the heads of the Eurasian Development Bank and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development are invited to the event.

«The agenda of the meeting covers a wide range of issues of trade and economic cooperation, technical regulation, the EAEU integrated information system and other relevant topics. On February 3, the Prime Ministers of the Union countries will take part in the plenary session of the annual Digital Almaty forum. Traditionally, the forum is expected to be attended by prominent political and public figures, heads of large digital companies, IT business leaders and digital industry experts,» Aibek Smadiyarov said.

He noted that as part of the event an international exhibition of thematic projects will be held with Digital Almaty Awards awarding ceremony this year.
