During a working trip to Issyk-Kul region, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov got acquainted with the projects for modernization of Issyk-Kul and Karakol international airports. Press service of the head of state reported.
The President was informed about the work carried out by Manas International Airport OJSC, the Presidential Administration and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It is planned to build a new terminal building with a capacity of 450 passengers per hour at Issyk-Kul airport. The current complex was built in 2003. It can not cope with the increased passenger traffic. The design and estimate documentation for the new complex is being developed.
Construction and installation work will begin after the state examination.
The territory of the airport is being expanded, an additional fence is installed; projects for the construction of new structures to protect against mudflows are developed. In the future, Tamchy FEZ will be formed on this site, and Karakol and Balykchy FEZs will be liquidated.
Industrial premises, tourist complexes and other facilities will be located on the territory, which will allow receiving a large flow of foreign guests.
A new building of the terminal complex of Karakol international airport is being built and the runway is being extended. In the future, the airport will be able to receive new generation airliners such as Embraer and its analogues. This will attract and increase the flow of tourists from foreign countries.
Sadyr Japarov instructed to intensify the modernization of Issyk-Kul and Karakol airports, which must comply with all international civil aviation requirements.
At the initiative of the President, within the framework of the National Development Program, measures are outlined to improve the infrastructure of airports in the regions and restore domestic flights. It is planned to reconstruct the Issyk-Kul, Karakol, Naryn, Osh, Jalal-Abad airports; an airport will be launched in Talas region, and at the moment, repair and restoration work of the elements of the airfields of Batken and Kazarman airports is carried out.
