The number of families in need has decreased in Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration reported.
It is noted that as of the beginning of 2023, the number of needy families with children under 16, receiving ui-bulogo komok allowance, decreased by 5.7 percent.
According to the department, active measures to support the low-income population, primarily the reduction of the electricity tariffs as part of the decree of the President Sadyr Japarov, contributed to the decrease.
The ministry recalled that from January 1, 2022, the electricity rate for beneficiaries of ui-bulogo komok allowance is set at 50 tyiyns per 1 kilowatt-hour with consumption of up to 700 kilowatt-hours per month.
According to the Ministry of Labor, 339,100 children receive the ui-bulogo komok allowance. This is 13.9 percent of 2.4 million children living in the country.
An increase in the number of beneficiaries is registered in Batken (by 0.7 percent) and Osh (by 0.6 percent) regions.
Last year, the average amount of the specified allowance was increased by 52.2 percent and amounted to 1,316 soms for each child. In 2022, the ministry paid out 4,903 million soms to needy families in the form of the ui-bulogo komok allowance.
