The Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Kabul is checking information disseminated in the Kyrgyz media about an alleged outbreak of a severe viral infection in the Pamir Valley of Afghanistan and the death of ethnic Kyrgyz. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reports.
It is noted that due to the lack of telephone communication and to clarify the actual situation of the ethnic Kyrgyz in the Great Pamir, a trustee of the diplomatic mission was sent to the place.
«At the same time, the situation in the Little Pamir is calm, no acute outbreaks of viral diseases have been detected,» the statement says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Afghanistan keep the issue under special control and are in touch with the representative of the Afghan Kyrgyz in the Kyrgyz Republic.
