Kambar-Ata-1: Roadmap for implementation of project signed

The Ministers of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan signed a roadmap for the implementation of construction of Kambarata HPP-1 project. The Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

A meeting of Energy Ministers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan took place on January 6. The parties discussed the roadmap for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1. The emphasis was placed on implementation the project in an impartial and beneficial way for all. Then the parties signed an agreement on a road map.

«Tentative dates for putting the plant into operation will be determined after the development of a feasibility study. Preparations for the project have begun. Construction of the station is beneficial for all three countries, especially for Kyrgyzstan. We have to become an exporting state, not an importer of electricity. If we build the Kambarata HPP-1 together with neighboring countries, then a significant shortage of electricity will be eliminated in our republic,» the Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said.
