President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed a decree appointing Arslan Koychiev an Advisor to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Arslan Koychiev replaced Altynbek Zhumaev, a friend of the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev, at this post.
He is a historian, writer, businessman.
From 1994 to 1996 he worked as a correspondent for the Bishkek service of Radio Liberty. From 1996 to 2010 he was a producer at the BBC World Service in Kyrgyzstan.
According to the register of the Ministry of Justice, Arslan Koychiev is a co-founder of Manas Resources, which is engaged in the extraction of precious metals.
