Russia takes over EAEU chairmanship

Meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council has ended in Bishkek. As a result, the heads of state of the EAEU adopted 15 documents.

A protocol was signed on amending the agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union dated May 29, 2014 in terms of determining the procedure for collecting indirect taxes when providing e-services.

Decisions were made to start negotiations with the United Arab Emirates on concluding a free trade agreement, on the main directions of the international activities of the Eurasian Economic Union for 2023, and on changes to the rules of work of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The EAEU leaders also agreed to establish a Council of Heads of authorized bodies of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union in the field of energy, to amend the list of sectors (subsectors) of services in which the single services market operates within the EAEU. Decisions were made on the list of priority areas for the liberalization of services, on awarding the medal «For Contribution to the Development of the Eurasian Economic Union», on amending the regulation on external audit (control) in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union, the report on budget execution for 2021 and the draft of the EAEU treasury for 2023.

The amount of the fee paid by economic entities when applying to the court of the Eurasian Economic Union has been approved.

As a result of the meeting, Russia took over the chairmanship in the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union by a separate decision. In addition, an order on the time and place of the next meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council was adopted.
