Former presidential representative to the Parliament Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev was acquitted by the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan. The Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The judicial board upheld the decision of the Pervomaisky District and Bishkek City Courts. Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev was acquitted due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions. Recommendation of the prosecutors was left unsatisfied.
On November 24, 2020, Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev was detained on suspicion of committing a crime under Article 320 «Abuse of official position» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to investigators, during the election campaign in October 2020, acting in the interests of one of the political parties, he allegedly forced the head of one of the state-owned enterprises of strategic importance to transfer to him funds in the amount of more than 7 million soms under the threat of dismissal in case of refusal.
