The head of the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bakytbek Zhetigenov, got acquainted with the activities of the specialized municipal enterprise Osh-Tazalyk and the landfill. Press service of the City Hall reported.
At the meeting, the mayor instructed to intensify work on the implementation of the project for the reclamation of the old landfill and construction of a new one.
The City Hall noted that EBRD consultants had prepared a preliminary draft design. The package of documents was sent to the relevant authorities for obtaining permits and technical specifications.
On September 27, the deputies of the Osh City Council agreed to receive a loan from the European Investment Bank in the amount of €3 million for the reclamation of the landfill and construction of a new one.
In 2012, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided almost €11 million for the construction of a new landfill, 5 million of the amount is a loan for 12 years.
