Akylbek Japarov offers Japan to finance projects in field of transport

During his working visit to Japan, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov met with the Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Nobumitsu Hayashi. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

Akylbek Japarov stressed that Kyrgyzstan was determined to further strengthen partnership with Japan in all areas, including in attracting such authoritative financial institutions as the Japan Bank for International Cooperation. He noted that given the current state of the world economy, the shortage and high prices for many energy sources, renewable energy sources are increasingly coming to the fore in comparison with traditional ones.

«For the rational use of water and energy resources, we propose to consider projects in the field of renewable energy sources for joint implementation. The Cabinet of Ministers invites the financial institution to also consider the implementation of large infrastructure projects in the field of transport and communications, which would have a positive multiplier effect,» the head of the Cabinet concluded.

Nobumitsu Hayashi noted that the financial institution was ready for mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.

«The main task is to interest Japanese companies in entering the Kyrgyz market. The Central Asian Investment Forum is aimed at achieving this goal. We need to make joint efforts so that the upcoming forum brings its positive results,» he stated.
