Incomes from foreign exchange transactions in commercial banks of Kyrgyzstan in January-September 2022 increased eight times compared to the same period last year. The National Statistical Committee provided such data.
According to the results of the third quarter of the year, 603 organizations worked in the financial sector of the economy, including the National Bank, 23 commercial banks, 565 non-banking financial and credit organizations and 14 insurance companies.
The total income of organizations in the financial sector of the economy for nine months of this year amounted to about 75 billion soms and increased 1.6 times.
This is mainly due to the growth of banking sector income. The expenses of financial sector organizations in the same period exceeded 45 billion soms and increased by almost 1.5 times.
The total volume of the open loan portfolio of banks and non-banking financial and credit organizations as of October 1, 2022 exceeded 227 billion soms. The banking sector accounted for 86 percent of the total volume of loans, the sector of non-banking financial and credit organizations — 14 percent. The main areas of lending were trade (25.3 percent of the total), consumer needs (19.2 percent), agriculture (18.6 percent), mortgages (10.6 percent) and construction (7 percent).
