Head of Cabinet of Kyrgyzstan ready to dissolve Customs Service

Deputies discuss the draft law on the republican budget for 2022 and the outlook for 2023-2024 at a meeting of the Committee on Budget, Economic and Fiscal Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting is attended by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov.

He said that at the end of the year the Cabinet of Ministers would say goodbye to those ministers and officials who do not follow the instructions of the president and do not fulfil the plan. The Customs Service officials are among them.

«We have already said goodbye to four ministers. We did not look at the fact that they were friends or relatives. We are preparing for cardinal reforms. This year, customs collected 26 billion soms more than in 2021. The head of the state service was set a plan to increase the figure by 50 billion soms. Of the 24 billion shortfalls, 7 billion did not reach the budget because of the situation in Russia, there are also explanations for other 7 billion,» Akylbek Japarov said.

The head of the Cabinet added that he was ready to completely dissolve the Customs Service and hire yesterday’s university graduates.

«If necessary, we will hire those who feel pain for the fate of the state. I have said this to Sadyr Japarov. He said: if necessary, we will dismiss all customs officers in one day and will hire those who graduated from the institute instead of them. We are ready for it. The system needs to be prepared,» Akylbek Japarov said.
