The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported details of the detention of employees of the regional channel MIR24 — journalist Sanrabiya Satybaldieva and a camera operator Kalys Ashirbaev.
According to the ministry, on November 3, 2022, a number of persons were caught red-handed when handing over $2,000, who systematically extorted money from deputies of the Parliament. It is noted that parliament members were blackmailed by the publication of audio recordings of 2016-2017 on social media.
«The main perpetrator of the crime is a citizen of Kyrgyzstan, Sanrabiya Satybaldieva, who works as the General Director of the regional channel MIR24. At the same time, she is a PR manager of the deputy of the Parliament Tazabek Ikramov. The camera operator of the channel Kalys Ashirbaev and the driver of Zhorgo-Taxi company were detained on suspicion of complicity in the crime. A criminal case has been initiated and an investigation is underway. The detainees made confessions,» the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
Recall, the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the journalist of the regional channel MIR24 Sanrabiya Satybaldieva. The woman was placed in a temporary detention facility, despite the fact that she is pregnant and has a threat of miscarriage, and her small child remained at home. Camera operator Kalys Ashirbaev was also placed in the temporary detention center.
