Sadyr Japarov sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol in connection with the death of people in a mass stampede in the city of Seoul.
«I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of many people in the crowd crush in Itaewon metropolitan area that took place on October 29 this year. On behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan and myself, I offer condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. I share the pain and bitterness of irreparable loss,» the head of state said in the telegram.
The crowd crush occurred on Itaewon Street in central Seoul during the Halloween festivities, which was celebrated for the first time in three years without restrictive measures related to the pandemic. 151 people became its victims.
According to the operational headquarters and the police of the city, a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 26, native of Aktobe region is among the victims of the tragedy. She was a student of one of the universities of the Republic of Korea.
There is no information about the injured or killed Kyrgyzstanis yet.
