A stampede occurred on Itaewon Street in central Seoul during the Halloween festivities, which was celebrated for the first time in three years without restrictive measures related to the pandemic. 151 people became its victims. Sky News reports.
The news agency, citing fire services, reported the death of at least 150 people. They were crushed by a large crowd moving forward along a narrow street during the Halloween celebration near the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon.
It’s unclear what caused the crowd, although some local media report that a large number of people came to the area after hearing that there was an unnamed celebrity.
At least 19 foreigners became victims of the crowd crush, Yonhap news agency reports.
