A Green Energy Fund will be created in Kyrgyzstan, which will co-finance the purchase of energy generated by renewable energy sources (RES). Deputy Minister of Energy, Sabyrbek Sultanbekov, announced at a briefing.
According to the law, Electric Stations have to purchase electricity, but the company has certain difficulties, including debts.
«It was decided to create a Green Energy Fund. If we succeed, then there will be co-financing from this source next year,» the Deputy Minister said.
Sabyrbek Sultanbekov added that in the future, possibly, National Electric Networks of Kyrgyzstan will also be involved in the purchase of electricity. He recalled that there was a merger with the distribution sector. «The option is being considered that National Networks will also buy,» he said.
According to him, each generating source will personally conclude a supply contract.
Sabyrbek Sultanbekov added that after the end of the grace period of 15 years, producers of renewable energy sources would have to look for buyers of electricity themselves.
