Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Edil Baisalov, commented on the recordings of a conversation, allegedly, of members of the Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir that appeared on the Internet, who were detained the day before.
According to him, the recordings demonstrate «the fact of an attempted assault on democracy.»
«The former chairman of the State Committee for National Security Duishebaev (Keneshbek Duishebaev, he was detained the day before and placed in a temporary detention facility. — Note of 24.kg news agency) clearly says that the goal is a coup. Asanov (Bektur Asanov was also placed in the detention center. — Note of 24.kg news agency) replies: «Either we will imprison them, or they will.» This is a conspiracy against democracy. An attempted assault on the Constitution and the people,» the Deputy Head of the Cabinet wrote.
This is how the official reacted to the planned march against the transfer of Kempir-Abad reservoir and in support of the detained politicians and activists.
Edil Baisalov also wrote: «The fact of an attempted assault on democracy is obvious. And what you are collecting here in support of them has nothing to do with freedom of speech.»
Keneshbek Duishebaev, Erlan Bekchoroev, Aidanbek Akmatov, Asiya Sasykbaeva, Rita Karasartova, Atai Beishenbek, Klara Sooronkulova, Azimbek Beknazarov, Aibek Buzurmankulov, Zhenish Moldokmatov, Bektur Asanov, Nurlan Asanbaev, Gulnara Dzhurabaeva, Ravshan Dzheenbekov, Taalai Mademinov, Ulugbek Mamataev, Perizat Suranova, Chingiz Kapar, Ali Shabdan uulu, Talant Eshaliev and Kubanychbek Kadyrov were detained for 48 hours.
Kanat Isaev was placed in the remand center 1 in Bishkek for a month.
A Committee for protection of Kempir-Abad reservoir was created on October 22. It includes activists, politicians and MPs. On the same day, in an interview with Kabar news agency, President Sadyr Japarov said: the authorities have information who was behind the rallies and marches on Kempir-Abad issue.
