Kyrgyzstan to participate in next joint exercises – CSTO

Kyrgyzstan will definitely participate in the next joint exercises of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Head of the joint headquarters Anatoly Sidorov said to journalists answering the question about absence of Kyrgyz military at the past military drills in Tajikistan.

According to him, representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in in all events on preparation, consultations and staff talks during the year.

«That is, the whole complex of events was carried out with their participation. But the situation developed in such a way that they made a decision [not to participate],» Anatoli Sidorov said.

Active phase of the joint exercises Rubezh-2022 began on October 17 in Tajikistan. Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan took part in them. Kyrgyzstan refused to participate in the exercises, informing the CSTO secretariat in advance.

The public of Kyrgyzstan would not welcome the participation of the army in the upcoming CSTO exercises Indestructible Brotherhood — 2022 due to the recent conflict with Tajikistan. Because of this, the exercise had to be canceled, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Edil Baisalov said earlier.
