Deputies adopt new regulations of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan

Deputies adopted new regulations of Parliament at its meeting on Thursday.

At least 65 people voted for the new regulations.

Deputy Marlen Mamataliev noted that according to the new regulations, if a deputy wants to make a law, he or she will have to sign off on each item. After that, the chairman of the committee signs the document.

«We tried to bring it in line with the Constitution as much as possible. Perhaps, in the future, there will be proposals. We have done a lot to protect the rights of deputies,» Marlen Mamataliev said.

His colleague Gulya Kozhokulova added that parliament members would also be allowed to join and leave the faction. «Not only the filing of charges, but also the initiation of criminal cases against the deputy will be with the consent of colleagues,» she said.

Earlier, deputies created a conciliation group to develop new draft regulations. Before going on vacation, they simultaneously adopted a draft of the new document regulating their work in the second and third readings and sent it to the President for signature. However, the head of state returned the document with objections.
