Since the beginning of the year, 477 people have been killed in traffic accidents on the roads of Kyrgyzstan, 7,888 have been injured. The head of the Department of the Traffic Police Service and Law Enforcement Practice, Manas Sydygaliev, told at a press conference in Bishkek.
«At least 4,972 road accidents with victims were registered for nine months, for the same period last year — 5,426. Some 477 people died, last year — 610. At least 7,888 people received various injuries, for the same period last year — 8,301. There is a decrease in the number of road accidents, the number of dead and injured. But if you think about it, someone’s life, health and fate is behind every figure,» he said.
According to the head of the department, several factors contributed to the decrease in the level of traffic accidents on the roads of the republic: placement of additional posts of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in the summer, acquisition of the atomic system for fixing offenses AvtoUragan, transfer of control over the transport sector to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
