Death of two miners at Ishtamberdy field: Cabinet creates commission

An interdepartmental commission has been set up to study the causes of carbon monoxide poisoning at Ishtamberdy field. Press service of the Cabinet reported.

According to it, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev instructed the Environmental and Technical Safety Service under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision to analyze the causes of a gas leak in Full Gold Mining gold mine at Ishtamberdy field.

The Ministry of Natural Resources was instructed to step up control over compliance with and ensuring safety at the facility. The ministry was also instructed to submit to the Cabinet meeting a decision on strict compliance with the requirements for ensuring industrial safety during mining operations.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bakyt Torobaev expressed condolences to the families of the victims and said that the liquidation of the consequences of the emergency at the mine in Chatkal district of Jalal-Abad region was under his personal control.

Full Gold Mining will reportedly provide the necessary assistance to the families of the dead and injured.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a 24-year-old worker died during a gas leak in the mine on October 11 at 2.29 a.m. The Ministry of Health announced the death of another miner and ten injured on Wednesday. The second victim was 36 years old.
