GDP growth in Kyrgyzstan is projected at 3.7 percent at year-end 2022. The country’s draft budget for 2023 and the prospected period for 2024-2025 contains such data.
At the same time, the Ministry of Finance expects higher economic growth rates from next year. The ministry notes that in 2023, after the stabilization of the situation caused by the outbreak of coronavirus infection, the national economy is projected to recover. It will gradually begin to pick up the pace, and business activity is expected to return to its growth trajectory.
«Real GDP growth is expected at 4.9 percent in 2023, 4.4 percent in 2024 and 4.5 percent in 2025. The indicators will be achieved through growth in the areas of industry, services and agriculture,» the explanatory note to the draft budget says.
It should be noted that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development forecasts GDP growth in Kyrgyzstan at 7 percent both in 2022 and 2023. Assumptions of the Asian Development Bank on the economic growth in the republic are more modest — 3 percent this year and 3.5 percent next year.
