Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov held an operational meeting with Presidential Envoys to the regions, mayors of cities and heads of districts in format of a video conference. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
«It is necessary to organize collection and delivery of humanitarian aid to Batken region from all regions of the country. Since ancient times, the Kyrgyz people have united and provided assistance and support to each other in difficult moments. There are a lot of citizens now who want to provide assistance, so it is important to open humanitarian aid collection points, ensuring their delivery to Batken region in a centralized manner under the control of the Ministry of Emergency Situations,» he said.
Akylbek Japarov instructed heads of districts and mayors of cities to provide maximum assistance in organizing the funerals of killed citizens.
The funerals must be organized in accordance with traditions and with all honors.

He added that the heads of local authorities need to keep the social and political situation in the regions under control.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 103 victims, 24 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
Presidents Sadyr Japarov and Emomali Rahmon agreed to ceasefire. But, according to the latest data from the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, the Tajik side violated the agreements again.
