Over 800 million soms and weapons seized from co-owner of Hawaii cafe

The co-owner of Hawaii recreation center, Dzhurat Abdullaev, transferred more than 800 million soms to the republic’s budget. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

«Conclusion of the corresponding examination received during the investigation confirmed the charge previously brought against him: illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.

During the investigation, at the initiative of the accused, an agreement was concluded with him on the admission of guilt in the offence charged.

The investigation was completed, the materials were transferred to the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek. On September 12, by a court verdict, the defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to a fine of 100,000 soms.

In the framework of the case under investigation, more than 800 million soms were seized from the accused, the origin of which he could not explain.

«Based on the results of the investigation and trial, the seized weapons, including hunting weapons, and equipment were transferred to the disposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the funds — more than 800 million soms — were transferred to the republican budget in full,» the SCNS concluded.

Businessman Dzhurat Abdullaev was detained on August 19 for illegal possession of firearms and explosive devices. He was placed in a pre-trial detention center until October 19. Later, the SCNS reported about drugs and a cache with a large amount of money found in his possession.
