A foreigner has been detained in Kyrgyzstan on suspicion of distribution of extremist materials. Press center of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported.
According to the SCNS, a criminal case has been initiated under the article «Creation and financing of an extremist organization» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
«A foreign citizen illegally stayed on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and was engaged in the spread of religious extremist ideology. During the search, the following was found in his possession: laptops, electronic storage media, bank cards, a large number of cell phones and SIM cards. The detainee was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. Investigative and operational measures are being carried out,» the SCNS said.
