The Bishkek Kurultai, which will elect delegates to the People’s Kurultai, will be held on October 10. This is stated in a draft resolution of the Bishkek City Council on measures to implement the presidential decree on the Convocation of the People’s Kurultai. The document was submitted for public discussion.
The draft resolution sets the number of representatives to the Kurultai of Bishkek from each district: Leninsky — 125 delegates, Oktyabrsky — 140, Pervomaisky — 101, Sverdlovsky — 134. There are 500 people in total.
The background statement notes that the representation rate is proportional to the population of the districts. «Delegates to the People’s Kurultai of the city are elected at gatherings, meetings of residents in accordance with the norm of representation established by the Council,» the document says.
By the decision of Sadyr Japarov, the first People’s Kurultai will be held in Bishkek on November 25, 2022.
