Members of terrorist organization detained in Osh city

Active members of Tawhid wal-Jihad terrorist group were detained in Uzgen district of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of Osh reports.

Two suspects — 23-year-old A. uulu A. and 26-year-old F. uulu K. tried to leave for Syria, but could not cross the border and stayed in Turkey for a long time.

«Active members of the terrorist group were in contact with the banned organization Tawhid wal-Jihad. The detainees performed tasks, in particular, recruited people via the Internet. In addition, the suspects were handing out extremist materials,» the department said.

The men flew from Osh airport to Turkey, from where they intended to go to Syria to participate in hostilities. However, they failed to cross the border and returned to Kyrgyzstan. They were detained upon arrival.
