Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov expressed his condolences on the death of compatriots as a result of a traffic accident in Russia. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
«All the people of Kyrgyzstan mourn with you today. Each of us took this bad news with pain in our souls. All our thoughts and prayers are with the three victims who are currently in the hospital. Sharing the bitterness of the loss, I want to note that the Cabinet of Ministers will provide material assistance to the families of the injured and the dead and will make every effort to transport the bodies of the dead compatriots to their homeland as soon as possible,» said Akylbek Japarov.
At least 16 people were killed in a traffic accident in Ulyanovsk Oblast of Russia, 14 of them are citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Three Kyrgyzstanis survived. Their condition is assessed as serious.
The minibus with Kyrgyzstanis was literally squeezed between two heavy trucks. The truck driver, who caused the fatal accident, also died.
By the decision of the President, August 23 was declared a Day of Mourning in Kyrgyzstan.
